I Got a Sneak Peek at SoCal’s DANGER! Pro Wrestling’s New DANGER TV That Premiers Tomorrow

With a busy weekend ahead of me, I was just sitting around playing the new WWE 2K25 when I got an interesting text.

“I’m sending you this pilot of DANGER TV that I plan to put out tomorrow Thur 3/13. Would love your feedback.”

Not to say that WW 2K25 is boring, but I was at a point that the usual repetition was starting to become tiresome, so what a perfect time to take a break and see what the guys over at DANGER! Pro Wrestling has in store.

Upon clicking the private YouTube link, the first thing I noticed is that the pilot episode is only 12 minutes long with one match. Just right for someone with a short attention span like me for a first-time random text click, but initially not long enough to present as a full episode of wrestling programming. Feedback I did share with executive producer Mikey Gordon and was pleasantly assured future episodes already in the can have two matches each. I had suggested a 22–24-minute runtime, with a spill over to 30 minutes with sponsorship advertisements. So, two matches should hopefully fit within that as the series continues to go up weekly.

As for this pilot, we are taken instantly to the ring with a cold open featuring DANGER! Pro champion, “Captain Maverick” Doble Cara, in the ring setting the tone that this is not your normal TV wrestling presentation. A short, but entertaining excerpt immediately sets that tone with colorful language and questionable heat so that the viewer can decide if this is for them or not before moving into an intro video set to rock music that for the nostalgia fan, will bring ECW chills down your spine. I wish the intro was a bit longer to be honest.

Moving into the show itself we are welcomed to a championship match featuring Doble Cara and SoCal’s super popular, Eli Everfly. Commentary is a one man show, with “Vanilla Monsoon” keeping up with the ECW vides, feeling like a throwback to the single commentary style of Joey Styles.

What I found interesting was DANGER! Pro Wrestling’s use of transitions during the match itself. Opting to cut out the time between set up and execution of moves, cuts the overall show time down but also successfully tightens up the overall match pacing, giving the viewer less down time while keeping them more engaged with the content.

Another great technique use was the instant replay. While there was some feedback, I gave in terms of smoothing the transition out a bit for instant replays in the future, this is something many independent promotions tend to overlook as a tool to use. This is truer when you have talent in the ring such as this match where there is high flying, death defying moves that if you blink you might miss them. By adding the instant replay, this really brings the show together.

We get a mid-match commercial break with details on upcoming DANGER! pro Wrestling shows. Great for the local audiences, but for those out of the local area who will be viewing this from a worldwide audience, hopefully this will be accompanied in the future by sponsored ads with access via online stores to engage the wider area viewer.

Post match we get a preview of the upcoming week which was a nice bow on a pretty nicely wrapped package and a great way to keep viewers coming back.

With DANGER TV being a pilot, there are absolutely things to be improved upon as I shared with them, but for a first attempt to create something that may lead to future brand awareness and expansion, I thought this was a pretty good introductory presentation.
